World War II Photos (Set)

Rather than working today (which I should be doing), I have been going through scans of pictures that my grandfather took during World War II. This is by far my favorite. The man's expression is priceless.
The back of the picture says Okinawa Native, Sept. 1945 .

Samdup means "Fulfillment" in Tibetan. Samdup was waiting for his wife praying in the Mahabodhi temple, talking with a bunch of men on a bench. I saw him a couple of time during my stay, I was shy to ask but finally did. I really liked his face. He was surprised when I asked him for a shot, laughed, then stood serious in front of the camera.

Elle, elle priait au Mahabodhi temple. J'ai mis du temps avant d'oser lui parler, il m'intimidait. Mais comme j'aimais beaucoup son visage, je me suis décidée… Il s'est montré surpris lorsque je lui ai demandé une photo, a rigolé avec ses amis puis s'est tenu sérieux devant l'appareil.
